My TTC Resume

  • 9.4.2010:  Get married; go off birth control and start using condoms (in hindsight, pretty darn crazy!).
  • 10.4.2010:  Decide to wait until June to start TTC since I start new job.
  • 5.1.2011:  Husband starts new job; I need dental work, but his insurance won't kick in until the beginning of July; decide to push back TTC until August because I've read one shouldn't get dental work done in the early stages of pregnancy and I foolishly think I will get pregnant right out of the gate.
  • 7.19.2011:  Pre-conception appointment with new OB; everything looks good; told to relax, go on vacation, have sex as often as possible between CDs 10-17 and I will get pregnant.
  • 9.22.2011:  BFP!!!; husband and I toast our little one and thank God for giving us such a gift; we also thank him that we don't have to go through TTC anymore because two months was so hard!
  • 9.27.2011:  Start to miscarry at 4:00 in the morning.
  • 10.6.2011:  Am told by Cookie, the mean NP, that I was never pregnant based on HCG test eight days after miscarriage.
  • 10.13.2011:  See mid-wife at practice regarding left-sided ovarian pain that has developed since miscarriage.
  • 10.15.2011:  Our wonderful dog dies suddenly (unrelated to TTC, but horribly sad and traumatic).
  • 10.24.2011:  Get ultrasound and see OB regarding ovarian pain; am told, "it's probably nothing, but it could be cancer;" am given clearance to TTC again next cycle.
  • 11.14.2011:  Move to new GYN practice; see Dr. Sunshine for first time; she's the first medical worker who validates my pregnancy; she wants me to get another ultrasound, day 3 bloodwork, and an endometrial biopsy; suggests I take another month off in order to be able to have biopsy.
  • 11.22.2011:  Go back to my therapist after 18 month hiatus.
  • 12.9.2011:  Second appointment with Dr. Sunshine; am told ultrasound and bloodwork are great (FSH is 5.3 Yay!!!); performs biopsy.
  • 12.14.2011:  Biopsy is negative; given green light to TTC.
  • 1.27.2012:  CD1 after having sex seven out of nine days around ovulation; decide to get follow-up appointment with Dr. Sunshine
  • 2.13.2012:  Appointment with Dr. Sunshine; she's not impressed with our efforts at TTC since it has only been three months since the miscarriage; she asks how many children we want, when I tell her one, she says, "That's good; it takes some of the pressure off," to which I respond, "I'm glad you aren't feeling any pressure because I sure am;" she gets the message and orders full panel of bloodwork, HSG, and SA for husband.
  • 2.24.2012:  CD3 bloodwork comes back; all normal except FSH has gone up to 9.3; Dr. Sunshine wants to repeat.
  • 3.5.2012:  HSG; both tubes clear.
  • 3.21.2012:  Husband's SA results come in; everything is normal.
  • 3.26.2012:  Back to Dr. Sunshine; everything looks good; she says, "statistically speaking, you will get pregnant;" she suggests I might want to see an RE; I inform her I have an appointment in two weeks.
